The AFRT make its annual pilgrimage to Dumfries in Scotland to take part in the iconic Scotish Rally; this would be the 51st year that the team have competed on this event. As expected a very close battle was fought with all 6 crews driving hard, unfortunately R3 succumbed to an engine fault early on in the day. The remaining 5 crews pushed on to the finish with a surprising final results board; SSgt Cookman, a stand in driver, clearly had not allowed the dust to settle on his driving boots and put in an inspired drive to finish third overall.
This weekend was made even more special with the invite from Lord March to attend and compete at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. The whole team made an epic journey to arrive fresh for the final day of the event. R6 and R4 in the capable hands of Maj Paramore and Cpl Hazelby did their best to emulate our Rallying heroes (Seb Loeb, WRC Citroen, to Rauno Aaltonen 1966 Mk1 Mini Cooper S) and thrilled the packed crowds with daring displays of driving - it's amazing what 2 tons of Landrover can do!
