LEGEND FIRES NORTH WEST STAGES RALLY
The Team’s first competition of 2014 was the Legend Fires North West Stages Rally. This was based in Blackpool over a stormy weekend. This was a chance for the newly selected crews to get to know each other and start the process of working together as a unit. The organizers of the rally had kindly arranged support from some local companies, so each of the Land Rover Wolfs carried the logos of one of those companies. In addition to the Wolfs (nicknamed ‘Romeos’), a newly joined member of the Team entered a privately-run Peugeot 106. He needed a co-driver, so the Team’s captain from 2013 stepped forward to fill the left seat. By doing so, he generously made available his own allocated Romeo so that the Team’s newest crew were able to complete. The start of the new season also brought new seats for the Romeos. The very smart seats were generously provided by Cobra Motorsport. The Team is very grateful for their support. Before the event started, two of the crews and their Romeos went to BAE Systems at Warton airfield, to the south-east of Blackpool. BAE Systems were one of those local companies who had generously supported the Team at this event. The visit to Warton enabled us to meet some of the staff there and to have a photo-call in front of a brand spanking new Typhoon aircraft just out of their assembly hangar. The photos are overleaf. The action from the weekend formed a report broadcast on BFBS. This report can be viewed at the following link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=svwA9Lidl9M.
